Overview

Geoff Tippet has arranged a special birthday treat for his old friend, Bob. The treat is a hotel room for the night, a double-bed, a champagne dinner, and an attractive girl called Mimi. The problem is that a shy Kate is next door anxiously awaiting her computer agency date, Dick, but Dick has been shown into the wrong room. Add in Bob's wife Liz, who believes she is dining with Geoff, and Tony the over-enthusiastic Italian room waiter who has to serve both rooms, and you have the recipe for a pretty convoluted evening. This light comedy premiered at the UK's Redgrave Theatre and is still regularly produced around Europe 40 years after its first British productions.
