Summary

Beanstalk! The Musical! is exactly like nothing you've ever seen before, not even in a book! This fun family show follows the adventures of Jack, a young boy with his head in the clouds and his nose in a book of fairytales. When the magic beans Jack trades for the family cow grows into a gigantic beanstalk, Jack finally gets the chance to have a fairytale adventure of his very own. Now if he can only find the treasure, save his family, and get the cow back, today might just really be his magical fairytale afterall. Filled with hilarious characters, toe-tapping tunes and more twists than a climbing vine, Beanstalk! The Musical! is one show that's guaranteed to grow and grow and grow right into your heart.

History
First presented at Island Theater Workshop's Children's Theater in Oak Bluffs, MA in July 2005.

NARRATOR 1-5 -  The tellers of the tale.
JACK -  A king hearted boy who beleives in fairytales.
JACK 2 -  Jack in disguise.
JACK 3 -  Jack in another disguise.
MOTHER - Jack's mother; a grumpy old woman who used to be rich and happy.
COW -  Jack's best friend.
ALEX THE SKUNK MERCHANT - A skunk merchant named Alex.
CHRIS THE CHEESE MERCHANT -  A cheese merchant named Chris.
SUE THE POTPOURRI MERCHANT -  A potpourri merchant named Sue.
BEANSELLER -  A mysterious bean merchant with a secret past.
THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY - A fugitive in the magical land above the clouds.
THE GIANT - A big man with a big appetite for little people.
GIANT'S WIFE -  A big woman with a big heart.
HEN - An enchanted and exhausted hen that lays golden eggs.
HARP - A magical singing harp who acts like an opera star/diva.
