Summary
Judy is roused to rebellion when her aunt and Isabel refuse to allow her to go to a dance, to which they have all been invited, on the grounds that she has no suitable clothes, and plans to run away - possibly to Hollywood. Uncle Toby, sympathetic and mellowed by cocktaisl obtains clothes for Judy to go to the dance, but Judy learning that Myra has been delayed goes instead to Sir John's flat, impersonating the millionairess, with the object of gaining possession of the steamer tickets and using them herself. Sir John is not entirely taken in by her disguise and finds her a very much more congenial companion than his fiancee. Next morning Isabel demands an explaination of Sir John's unconventional behaviour the previous evening. Acting hard she offers him back her engagement ring and is very surprised when he accepts it. Uncle Toby plans to take Judy away to his farm, but it is obvious she will not be left there for long; already Sir John is telephoning her and there is no doubt whose hand will now wear the engagement ring.
