The hotel bedroom door will only open from the outside. In response to successive appeals for help, the girl, the page, the waiter, the carpenter and the manager all get shut in the room. Finally, the proprietress is sent for, and when all but the handsome manager have gone she deliberately shuts the door, saying that she has waited years for that moment.
