A Criminal Introduction

Elsie, Betty and Kay are three ex-Service girls now running a garage. They are finding things a bit of a struggle, lacking the capital to buy necessary equipment. One night, after Elsie has gone to bed, the other two hear someone breaking in, and capture the 'burglar', who turns out to be a girl. She refuses to talk, but when Elsie comes in she recognizes her as an ex-W.A.A.F. acquaintane, Jane. Jane eventually admits she came back to the garage, which used to belong to her uncle, to recover some money he had hidden. She finds the money and puts it up as capital when the others offer to take her into partnership.
