Summary
Susan and Dan Roper's marriage is not very old but alreadythe gilt has worn off it. They are young, personable and have a small son; but their relationship has not stood up to the everyday wear and tear of married life. Dan, however, is still deeply in love with Susan and shuts his eyes to the possibility of divorce. His eyes are opened only when he searches Susan's handbag for some money to buy drinks for himself and his friends Pat and Jill and in doing so discovers a love letter...
