Summary
Terence Glave, a great artist, is in failing health. The news brings Ms Maragret Maling, a still beautiful woman, from her villa in Naples to his house in Cornwall where he now lives with his daughter Phyliss. When his death is discovered to be a murder, and not because of his ill-health, complicated relationships within his small community brews trouble and suspicion.
