The Keeper of the Keys

They refuse individually but agree to do so collectively. There is war on Earth and they confidently expect a troop of soldiers to be the first applicants, but they are surprised by the entrance of a small child and some women refugees. Because of their own unworldliness they are unable to pursuade these poor souls to enter Heaven, but luckily Peter, who is of earth and of Heaven returns. The refugees understand him and he them. So the keys of Heaven are returned to him, and the Archangels leave Peter telling the refugees how much God suffers because men and women on Earth suffer.
