Overview

Audition Speeches for Black, South Asian and Middle Eastern Actors: Monologues for Women aims to provide BAME (Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic) actors and practitioners with new and exciting audition and showcase material from plays written by contemporary playwrights. The monologue anthology will celebrate the work of British and international contemporary playwrights who have written powerful and diverse roles for BAME actors within the last forty years. A growing number of BAME actors are attending drama schools and progressing to professional life in the theatre and on screen, yet finding quality monologues from a wide range of authors has proved to be a difficult task. Audition Speeches for Black, South Asian and Middle Eastern Actors: Monologues for Women seeks to redress that paucity of resource. Featuring forty monologues, categorised by theme - and offering a suggested playing age for each - this collection is the go-to resource for monologues for aspiring and professional BAME actors.
