Summary
Performed with The Gnadiges Fraulein this forms the double-bill Slapstick Tragedy. It is Christmas Eve and the carollers are singing. In and around a seedy New Orleans hotel two whores, one a shoplifter, the other morbidly sensitive about having had a breast removed, quarrel and make up in their wretched companionship. The implication is that all of us suffer in one way or another.
History

The Mutilated premiered at the Longacre Theatre in New York City in February 1966 under the direction of Alan Schnieder.
