From the award-winning playwright of Elephant's Graveyard, George Brant, comes the story of an ace fighter pilot whose career in the sky is ended early due to an unexpected pregnancy. Reassigned to operate military drones from a windowless trailer outside Las Vegas, she hunts terrorists by day and returns to her family each night. As the pressure to track a high-profile target mounts, the boundaries begin to blur between the desert in which she lives and the one she patrols half a world away.

Blew me away the first time i read it. Second time, too. Captures such a wide range of emotions and mental states, and asks what happens to our minds when we're reduced to watching and killing.

This show is very well written—it does an excellent job of capturing the fighter pilot mentality and the strain of being what the military calls “deployed in place” (working 12 hour deployment shifts 7 days a week yet still going home to your family every night). This is a side of war people do not often get to see, and the highs and lows are perfectly captured here. You could classify this as an anti-war play, or you could simply view it as an educational tool, informing civilians about the realities of war.

One word of caution: Chose your actor carefully and ensure they talk to a female fighter pilot or at least someone who is in the military. I have been watching clips of performances online and practically every woman I see is talking about flying like she is in the Sound of Music rather than a person trained to take lives. There is a certain amount of bravado which goes into this job, especially when it is taking its toll.
